 Jacqui Gilmour

Jacqui is passionate about the plight of children in this world and feels it is our responsibility to do all that we can to give them the opportunities they deserve.  Her work with Hope for Children has allowed her to assist children overseas, and now working with the Australian Children's Trust, she is able to apply her depth of experience to assist underprivileged children in Australia.

Her motto is “When we empower children with opportunities to grow and learn they are always able to achieve beyond our wildest expectations”.

Jacqui has many years experience living and working in Africa, including involvement in relief efforts during the 1980s Ethiopian famine.  She has worked directly with Ethiopian nationals to establish Hope for Children in Addis Ababa and subsequently Hope for Children in Australia.

Jacqui is a director of the board and coordinator of the Child Sponsorship and Donations programs as well as frequently initiating community programs in Ethiopia. She speaks regularly to numerous community, school and business groups to raise the awareness of the plight of the Ethiopian AIDS orphans and has been instrumental in fostering relationships with government, educational and medical institutions to implement joint initiatives for the benefit of these children.

Previously a director of both Hope for Children Ethiopia and Hope for Children USA, Jacqui’s experience will allow her to bring advances in international development and children’s care to the Australian Children's Trust.

The Fund's Investments

The Trust has two expert investment managers who, like all members of the Management Committee and all Board members, contribute their time on a pro bono basis. These fund managers' aim is to maximise the returns on the fund's investments while minimising risk.
